Community Day of Wellness 2014
in support of
The Michael J. Fox Foundation for Parkinson's Research
We would like to thank everyone for supporting us on our first big fundraising adventure at our Community Day of Wellness for Parkinson's Research! We had a good turn out and a lot of fun! A special thank you to Bruce Miller for his keynote speech on his inspiring story of his own journey with Parkinson's and how he defeated the odds and decreased the progression of the disease through extensive self care and exercise. Bruce's message was an inspiration to all. I loved his closing statement...
"So, my message is simple. Whatever obstacle you have encountered in life, get a plan together and just do it!"
Thank you also to all our amazing volunteers and vendors who helped us to make the day a success. We couldn't have done it without you! Find out more about each of our vedors:

Why Parkinson's Research?
My life has personally been touched by several important and inspirational people who have battled Parkinson's, including my 'honorary' Aunt Marge and the person who I really owe the start of my career to, Mary Gibson. I recently received the sad news that she passed away, but am forever grateful for the opportunity she gave me to step out on my own in business and for her kind, gentle spirit.
Another person who has impacted not only my life and everyone here at The Wellness Center, but countless others is our special keynote speaker, Bruce Jon Miller. I have learned so much from him over the years about commitment, reaching for your goals, determination, perseverance, and caring for the people in our lives as well as taking care of ourselves, not to mention all the government lessons and how to make awesome smoked BBQ! I am grateful for the encouragement, inspiration and support I've gained through working with him and am excited for the opportunity to help in the effort to find a cure for Parkinson's! I hope you can join us at our Community Wellness Day!
